Fair Training Center (FTC) is a nonprofit training center in Parañaque, Philippines, providing NC2 Domestic Work training for workers going abroad to Hong Kong for jobs. Visit the FTC website here.

On top of employment agency fees, migrant workers are overcharged for training that does not prepare them for migration. Aside from the excessive cost, inadequate training content leaves workers vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. The result of this inadequate system is that over a third of first-time domestic workers are terminated or do not finish their first contract.

  • 325+ workers trained

  • 100% of trainees have received certification from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority

  • More than 50% reduction in termination rates of FTC-trained workers

  • Engaged with government bodies and other important stakeholders on practical improvements to training

  • Described by the UN’s International Labour Organisation as the “gold standard” in pre-departure migrant worker training

Fair Training Center is a non-profit, social business in the Philippines that prepares migrant women for life overseas as a domestic worker. Launched in November 2016, our first-of-a-kind training program is results-focused, covering topics such as:

- dealing with difficult situations
- rights education
- maintaining good relationships with employers
- parenting from abroad
- financial literacy
- dealing with homesickness
- adapting to a new city
- and other life skills workers need to be successful migrants

Graduates leave our training centre as trained professionals, prepared for life as an overseas worker.
